When I was a young mom, it took awhile to learn about "me time", but I eventually had to. Because, "If Mama ain't happy, ain't no one going to be happy. "
You can smile and give yourself away all you want, but eventually someone is going have to pay for all that self-neglect. You, yes... but most of all, it will be your family. Those of raised by the older generation of mothers who self-sacarificed and made their families their lives...only know this too well. - Pat Novak
Oprah said it best, "Motherhood is the toughest job in the world." It is also the most rewarding.
"You must learn to love yourself and put your happiness in a healthy first place. I decided a few years back that taking care of myself was just as important as taking care of everyone else."

"People spend 46.9 percent of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing, and this mind wandering typically makes them unhappy, according to research by Harvard psychologists. "
Unlike other animals, humans spend a lot of time thinking about what isn’t going on around them: contemplating events that happened in the past, might happen in the future, or may never happen at all. Indeed, mind-wandering appears to be the human brain’s default mode of operation.

From a Coast Guard video: "I wasn’t born to sit behind a desk, in fact I wasn’t born to sit at all. I was born to take action, to seize opportunities, to use my strength and intelligence."
